ATV Lift Kits For Boosts

By Teri Farley

A much loved hobby can be the perfect way to escape the hassles and stresses of the daily routine of life. Many favorite pastimes require specific equipment and enthusiasts tend to take great care of their tools of the trade, even to the point of customizing them. Those who enjoy the thrill of riding four-wheelers might opt to add several enhancements such as special lighting, ATV lift kits, roll bars and carriers, to name a few.

Resembling a cross between a dune buggy and a motorcycle, this sturdy, aptly named all-terrain vehicle sits on four huge wheels that are strong and thick, making it possible to go places other bikes dare not. They are great for more than taking a thrilling ride as their design makes them well suited for camping, hunting, farming or even working in a large yard. The use of the ATV will have a huge influence on the types of accessories that will be added.

There are two alterations that the majority of ATV riders will opt to install on their bikes regardless of how they intend to ride it, simply because these changes make the vehicle more effective in many ways. Step one is usually switching out the standard issue tires for some that are about two inches bigger and have a thicker tread for better traction. It is only logical to follow that by adding a lift kit to the matrix.

This alteration provides a few benefits regardless of how the ATV is being utilized. The biggest advantage is providing two more inches of space between the tires and the fenders which greatly reduces the risk of scraping which could do costly damage to the wheels. It also grants higher ground clearance which is valuable when traveling uneven terrain or muddy land.

Those who ride for recreational purposes find this combination especially fun. It makes rough landings from hitting bumpy obstacles more enjoyable and considerably safer by providing a more securely balanced landing. Racing through bog and mud patches has never been more thrilling than when skidding through on huge tires with major plumage shooting out behind.

These vehicles are very handy when it comes to tending a sizable yard or doing some types of farm work. When some ground needs tilling for sodding or planting, the ATV is capable of handling smaller plows and tillers, negating the need for a huge tractor. When a hitch is installed, the bike can easily tow trailers and wagons, making it easier to move things around from place to place.

Avid campers and hunters find the four wheeler to be very useful when getting around out in the woods gathering firewood or simply traveling from one point to another. Adding cargo racks provide the area needed to carry gear or game. Spotlights make easier to see their way in the darkness or to spot prey.

Any purpose for which an all-terrain vehicle may be used can be enhanced by the addition of at least one accessory. Things like super sized tires, ATV lift kits, racks, carriers, hitches and spotlights bring so much more to the experience. Each rider will have individual preferences and needs that will influence their choice of customizations.
