Posted: 26 Aug 2013 05:05 PM PDT

With the demise of the limited run One-77, there's an empty spot to fill in Aston Martin's lineup, that of an extreme 'halo' supercar to justify the brand's ambitions to compete with the best of the best. Read more »

Feds Destroy Illegally-Imported Land Rover Defender

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 04:39 PM PDT

Illegal imports are taken very seriously in the United States, as the importer of a Land Rover Defender recently found out.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials crushed a Defender that had been seized in April in the Port of Baltimore, as the UK off-roader doesn't comply with American safety and emissions standards. However, the law allows for Defenders (and other gray-market cars) that are more than 25 years old to be brought to the country.

New Peugeot 308 Featured in Huge Gallery Ahead of Frankfurt Show Debut [172 Images]

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 03:39 PM PDT

Peugeot, along with its new grille and more restrained image, is pinning its non-crossover hopes on the all-new 308, a car not unlike the Volkswagen Golf seventh-gen. It uses a new platform, which is both lightweight and modular, it looks all grown up and might some say, even boring, and finally, it comes with an assortment of engine options, as well as a tempting promise for a very fast top of the range model, the recently revealed 266HP R Concept. Saudi Bugatti Veyron Smacked by a Truck in New York City

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 02:04 PM PDT

Manhattan is a great place to walk around if you like the hustle and bustle of a big metropolitan city, but it's a complete nightmare if you want to travel in (or even worse, park) your car.

For one Bugatti Veyron owner, the nightmare part of the Big Apple came true when a truck reportedly ripped into the exotic supercar's front fender. While the damage looks minor, keep in mind this is a Bugatti we're talking about, so the price to repair the 16-cylinder model's body could be as much as a new mainstream car…

Jaguar F-Type Coupe Promises to Be Tighter and More Focused – The Purist’s Choice

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 01:17 PM PDT

Reviews are in for the Jaguar F-Type roadster, and the general consensus seems to be that it handles nicely, but is not necessarily the same kind of precision tool that a Porsche Cayman is said to be. However, a bit of extra torsional rigidity does wonders for handling sharpness and a whole bunch of other things, so the announced coupe version could be just that. Read more »

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 12:46 PM PDT

So, we've all seen and know by now why regular Russian drivers have fitted their cars with forward-looking dashboard cameras en masse, but what about passenger-viewing recording devices?

Well, these cameras are usually found on taxicabs (and police vehicles) for a very good reason, as you will soon see for yourself in this dramatic footage released by a driver who fell victim to a ruthless couple when the male passenger sitting in the back started bashing the taxi driver's head with a rock!

Greek Korres Super Crossover Tries to Climb a Very Steep Stairway

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 11:03 AM PDT

In Hollywood movies, we usually see cars and motorcycles heading down a flight of steps, which understandably, is much, much easier than doing the exactly opposite.

However, the Korres Project 4 isn't your typical kind of vehicle – it's a super crossover that combines a 7.0-liter V8 engine from an older Corvette Z06 with an all-wheel drive system and an adjustable and adaptive suspension based on that of the…Citroen 2CV.

IAA: 2014 Peugeot 3008 and 3008 Hybrid4 Get the Family Face Too

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 10:05 AM PDT

The Peugeot 3008 is a very practical compact MPV which can (almost) seat five people in comfort. It's the smaller alternative to the 5008, yet if you don't need the extra two seats offered by the larger model, the 3008 may be worth a look.

Sadly for it, while it boasted some of the best elbow room and practicality credentials in the class, it was always let down by its awkward shape. Now, courtesy of a second (and more major) facelift, the 3008 has become more bearable to look at, and so far, it's one of the better interpretations of the current Peugeot family face – better than that of the post-facelift 5008.

Volvo's U.S. Arm Pressing Swedish Execs to Bring V40 to North America

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 09:24 AM PDT

Here's an odd twist to a story we originally thought was over; when Volvo presented the new V40 last year, North American officials told Carscoops that the company had no plans to sell it on this side of the Atlantic because, "sales data and our continued market analysis confirm that demand for a five-door hatchback like the V40 would not be strong enough to warrant bringing it to the United States".

A year and a half later, another Volvo executive, Tassos Panas, head of marketing and product development at Volvo Cars of North America, told Autonews that he will join the brand's U.S. dealers and press executives in Sweden to reverse that decision!

Take this episode for example; a hot-looking young woman in high-heels and a few more pieces of body-tight clothing was sensually washing a black motorcycle, no doubt gathering the attention of many pairs of male eyes in the crowd.

Peugeot Gives 5008 a Noticeable Botox Treatment

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 08:25 AM PDT

French automakers are known for being quite good at making certain, very specific types of vehicles. Aside from the quirky city cars and hot hatches that are most often brought to our attention, they also make some good MPVs/minivans. Therefore, for families with five or more members, the facelifted version of the moderately popular Peugeot 5008 is big news… Read more »

2014 Toyota Land Cruiser Facelift: 82 Photos, Video and All the Official Info

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 07:34 AM PDT

In production since 1951, the Land Cruiser is the longest running nameplate in Toyota's history and one of the most popular and capable (upper-class) 4x4s in the market. Following the release of the refreshed and slightly more luxurious North American cousin of the Land Cruiser Prado, the 2014 Lexus GX, on Friday, it's time for Toyota to do the same for its model.

The facelifted, standard wheelbase Land Cruiser, which in some markets carries the Prado moniker to tell it apart from the longer and bigger Land Cruiser 200 (or V8 in other regions), debuts with a number of exterior and interior styling revisions, plus safety and technology upgrades, while keeping the same range of 4.0-liter petrol and 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engines.

Well, after taking a look at the new image and comparing it to photos of a previous Volvo concept model, and in particular the 2011 Universe sedan study, it's pretty clear to me that the image has been doctored.

Peugeot is set to reveal the 208 Hybrid FE concept at the 2013 edition of the Frankfurt motor show. First shown in basic mockup form earlier in the year in Geneva, it has now turned into a fully-fledged concept which has a very interesting proposition – it emits 49 k/km of CO2, yet still hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8 seconds.
