As you've probably figured out by now, it's not easy being a traffic officer in Russia. Actually, we'd say it's rather extremely dangerous at times. Luckily, the cop featured in this video can file the incident under the category "It could have been worse". Read more »

Spy Shots: This Undisguised Tester Looks Like a 2015 Lexus GS F to Us…

Posted: 02 Aug 2013 01:35 PM PDT

If there's one feature that has remained consistent on Lexus' F-branded high-performance models (not to be confused with the F-Sport trim variants), are the signature stacked tailpipes on both sides of the rear bumper.

Add to that a group of Lexus employees who were enraged with our spy photographers for catching a few shots of a completely undisguised Lexus GS with the aforementioned feature, and you will understand why we believe that the car parked in one of the brand's garages is a prototype for the GS F.

Once the Second World War was over, the American vehicle manufacturing industry was still tooled up for production of military equipment, and while there were some factories that were able to quickly adapt to peace-time production, others were bigger and therefore their moves were cumbersome. Consumer Reports Says Jaguar XF is Not a Rational Choice, But a Blast to Drive

Posted: 02 Aug 2013 12:42 PM PDT

Trying to challenge the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and even the Lexus GS is a hard task nowadays, as all of them are extremely talented, and you'd be hard-pressed to find any real faults with any of them.

However, Jaguar is still trying to convince us with its now moderately-popular XF, a car which has slowly been getting better over the years, along with its styling – I frankly didn't like the shapes of the headlights for the first-gen model.

Fiat UK Enhances Punto with New Sporting Trim Level and Equipment Upgrades, But Is It Enough?

Posted: 02 Aug 2013 12:03 PM PDT

With the current environment in Europe and especially in Fiat's home market of Italy, the automaker is no hurry to present a replacement for the Punto, as stated by the company's CEO Sergio Marchionne himself last year.

And if you're wondering, the current generation Punto, originally launched as the Grande Punto, before being renamed to Punto Evo for its first facelift in 2009, with Fiat…reverting back to the Punto nameplate for the second facelift in 2012, has been on sale for eight years now - more than enough to show its age in plenty of aspects, even though Giugiaro's design still holds up today.

This Is What Some Prospective Buyers Think of the New BMW i3 EV

Posted: 02 Aug 2013 11:40 AM PDT

BMW, like any self-respecting multinational corporation, uses committees to decide what goes into production, what goes into the bin and what still has a chance to make it if a certain number of modifications are made.

While a committee may be very good at compiling market research data, and analyzing field reports, they cannot and will never be able to simulate an actual consumer/customer, let along vast numbers of them, even if they say they can - that's why the ads try to sell a lifestyle, instead of the actual car.

Nissan GT-R Nismo Edition Rumored to Hit 60MPH / 96KPH in Two Seconds!

Posted: 02 Aug 2013 11:16 AM PDT

Manufacturers like a nice punch line to promote new cars, or a new version of an older one, especially when it brings significant improvements over its predecessor. They want us to know about it so that they can sell it to us. Now, frankly, there is no better way to promote a high-performance model nowadays, than to say it can hit sixty miles per hour (96km/h) in just two seconds – that's mad racing car territory right there!

While not having been officially confirmed, AutoExpress says it has information that's how long the Nismo GT-R will take to reach the benchmark speed, making it faster than pretty much any road car on the planet, in stock form.

What do You Say: Does This LAPD Officer Need to Chill Out or Not?

Posted: 02 Aug 2013 10:48 AM PDT

The truth is you need to hear both sides of a story or at least have all the facts in your hands before you judge and draw a sound conclusion on any story or incident. On the face of it, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer featured in this video from YouTube user CENTETNB1 who posted it back in April, needs to at least learn some manners.

The clip starts with the man in the driver's seat saying "watch this" to his female passenger as his turns on the recorder (likely a mobile phone) upon seeing that the cop was coming back.

Now, it has been used by Ford to show off its OpenXC platform, which basically allows you to connect your smartphone to the car and have it send back information that can then be used in any number of ways. Group of 2015 Ford Mustang Coupes Spied Outside of Hotel

Posted: 02 Aug 2013 10:09 AM PDT

It's not that we haven't seen 2015 Ford Mustang prototypes before –actually, we shared a video of one we believe may be fitted with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four engine just earlier today, but we can't remember seeing so many in one place together.

These scoops pictures come to us from Mike at the Mustang6G forums who says the test cars were "just hanging out in a hotel parking lot". Ford has used so many layers of camouflage that it's virtually impossible to tell what the car looks like sans for some details like parts of the headlamps, wheels, exterior mirrors and bits of the interior.

There's a big difference between a fake and a replica. The former has all sorts of negative connotations attached to it, and usually implies that while said product may resemble the original, at first, it definitely fails to deliver the same kind of experience once it starts getting used. Ferrari's motorsport activities are nowadays synonymous with Formula 1, but in the past, the most successful manufacturer in F1's history also had a glorious run at Le Mans.

A nine-time winner of the world's most famous endurance race (last time in 1965), Ferrari may be considering a return to Le Mans from as early as 2015 - if Auto Motor und Sport's report is accurate. The German magazine says Ferrari is mulling a return to Le Mans 40 years after its last participation as a factory team with the 312PB (pictured).

Even if you don't always comply with speed limits, you should use common sense and adjust your speed according to the conditions of the road, traffic, weather and your skills, regardless if you're driving a car, a truck or a motorcycle, making sure you keep a safe distance from other rides.

Of course, you can choose not to, but then don't complain if you find yourself in the same situation as this UK (?) motorcyclist, who should be extremely pleased to have made it out alive from this incident.

GM Admits Defeat and Pulls Opel Brand from Australian Market Less Than a Year After Launch

Posted: 02 Aug 2013 06:08 AM PDT

When General Motors launched the Opel brand in the Australian market just 11 months ago in September of 2012, officials predicted local sales of around 15,000 cars within the first three years. Reality, however, proved to be a bitter disappointment as Opel delivered a pitiful 541 vehicles last year and only 989 in the first six months of 2013.

With these kind of sales figures, there was only one thing GM could do and that was to pull the plug and take its losses. The company made the announcement today stating in order to be competitive in the Australian market, it would have to slash prices on all models.
