All About The Wonders Of Kubelwagen

By Cecile Ingram

The Kubelwagen is literally translated as a bucket car due to its bucket car appearance. It is more likely a metal bathtub on wheels. This vehicles is a light military one used during wars specifically world war II. The design was based on Volkswagen Beetle created before this model. They only improve the performance of this car and created the Kubelwagen.

This vehicle is know among them as type 82. Them refers to the military men who used this type during wars. It was schemed and made in Germany with its inventor and the help of many people. The design is inexpensive and good for transporting. It can be used on or off the road when the situations demand. The draft was basically the result of other schemes.

The maker worked very hard to make the initial design as it did not take long months to finally release it. They realized during the improvement of the model that the features are not enough to deal with various military difficult situations. They do it simple and light to effectively handle off the road situations. A lot actually worked to created the body design.

The developmental testing by the military men began after the presentation of the initial design. Despite the lack of four wheel drive, the vehicle was competent at maneuvering over rough road. The project was later on given more time for more development. The capabilities were improved including its functions to fully answer the needs of the military.

Another set of development was done after years. They advanced the model by redesigning the body and then manufacture other models that were tested in preparation for invasion. Despite the satisfaction, some demanded for other alterations to be achieved. They minimized the speed in order to adjust to the march of the soldiers.

The off road capability was soon developed. They gave higher ground clearance at once. The wheels and the dampers are all revised. There are countless of modifications to be executed and then, specifications were all completed. The model was then named type 82.

The full blast production started the year after it was created and as the factories are already operated. During this period, no changes were made before the production was ended. There are only few modifications that were introduced and implemented. Other parts are reinforced and other were removed. It was called type 86.

The mechanics were changed but its performance and capabilities were the same with type 82. Because of this fact, some contributions were not totally made. After the war, it was again manufactured and people preferred them as they were indeed durable and useful. The Germans deliver the initial set of the cars for testing and they performed well outweighing the other models. They made use of other vehicles as references.

Many were surprised with how well the Kubelwagen performed especially the men who took part in developing the designs. It performed well as expected more than the other car models in every phase of the test. Some most important features are the light weight, the smooth and the flat structure under its body that allows it to easily slide with the surface.
