By Eugenia Dickerson

A warning that you can see when the car is having trouble with the oxygen sensor is the bulb that signals you to check your engine. You can inspect a quick look just to check if it would need an o2 sensor recycling to be used on the vehicle. If you open the hood, you can see at least four sensors which reside near the exhaust along with your converter. This will give you an idea which part is not working properly.

Find the oxygen sensor in your car by checking each part that would probably look like that of a spark plug. This will usually be visible because it is located near the exhaust pipe. You can detect it because of the wiring that is connected to its body.

Disconnect all connections slowly from where the sensor is attached. Choose the tools that will help you so you can begin with this process. With the help of a screwdriver that is flat at the tips, begin by pushing each tab and try to pull each section apart.

Begin unscrewing the parts of the sensor along the exhaust pipes. A wrench will be very useful or perhaps a special socket that has the capability to remove it. Search for the special gadgets who can help you finish the job. Just in case you do not carry one with you, go to a hardware shop and purchase the gadget. Ask help from an employee that specializes in that category.

Study the comparison between the old and the new material. If the new material does not come with a wire, try and make it function on its own. If there will be wires that are not sticking out, mend it up and bring it back to its functioning. If it is worn out, you can just replace it with another one.

Cut off old connectors from the damaged sensor and strip off its wires. Use different butt connectors to start and attach them to the new device. Make use of a heat sensitive tape to shrink and seal the connections. Study the manual and its instructions. Follow them to know where the wires go together and tie them up.

The tools can be put to reverse as you begin installing each new material back in. Use a screw so you can direct them in a clockwise angle. Take hold of a wrench as you put back the socket in its fit. Inspect the part if it is not sealed back with the threads slightly cut loose.

At this point you can start plugging the connections back on. Turn the ignition but do not start the vehicle just yet. With the use of a diagnostic scanner, clear out the code that is seen on the computer. If it is cleared, start the vehicle.

When you encounter this problem and you are not equipped with the tools, call for help at the site where your car breaks down. Ask them to fix the engine for you. They may have the complete tools to change your oxygen device and the reader as ell. After you have borrowed their equipment, clear all the data. If in case it performs dull, spray oil into it. The o2 sensor recycling will be productive once changed.
