Posted: 19 Feb 2014 04:07 PM PST

The Land Rover Defender is a vehicle that after almost half a century of service, is finally being dragged towards retirement. However, even after it will be put out of production, there will still be plenty around to break up for parts or salvage, refurbish and even modernize as extensively as you wish, kind of like what Kahn Design has done with the diesel one shown here or the more extreme (and much faster one) with the elongated front section. Land Rover Reveals Two New Defender Variants Ahead of Geneva

Posted: 19 Feb 2014 09:52 AM PST

Land Rover has announced that it will be bringing two new Defender variants to early March's Geneva motor show. As we've come to expect, these kinds of special versions/packs don't alter the vehicle in any dramatically significant way, concentrating just on changing its appearance (and perceived level of luxury, in this case, as they are only offered on cars of already high XS specification). In the video-review of the 2014 Chevrolet SS from The Smoking Tire that we posted last night, Matt Farah expressed the opinion that, to fix the V8-powered sports saloon's main weakness, the lack of (styling) attitude, you need to get it in black and place some more aggressive wheels and rubber on all four corners. In a social experiment of sorts (in the loosely defined sense), the Los Angeles crew from the YouTube channel "Simple Misfits" posed the following question: "Is there a difference between a white guy trying to break into a car vs a black guy?"
