VW's Plans for Russia Remain Unchanged Despite Possible EU Sanctions Posted: 20 Mar 2014 04:59 PM PDT They say politics and economic interests go hand in hand, and if that is true, it doesn't take an expert to realize that the sanctions considered by the European Union on Russia for annexing Ukraine's Crimean peninsula will be rather symbolic. UK Review of Jaguar F-Type Coupe Places it on Lofty Pedestal Posted: 20 Mar 2014 04:26 PM PDT The Jaguar F-Type's only real niggle is the aggressively high pricing scheme; that and the fact that it can melt into a blob if it catches fire… Joking aside, reviews were already praising the drop-top model for its looks, its historic significance and experience behind the wheel, but none called it particularly sharp or sporty. Check Out What’s Under the (Front) Hood of Renault’s New RWD Twingo Posted: 20 Mar 2014 02:51 PM PDT Luggage capacity will certainly not be a strong point of the funky new Renault Twingo, with its rear-engined, rear-wheel drive architecture. The layout doesn't leave that much space in the back for cargo, and if you were hoping they made sure there was room for things under the (front) hood/bonnet, then you will be disappointed. Some Experts Question Advantages Gained from Ford F-150's Aluminum Construction Posted: 20 Mar 2014 01:50 PM PDT Concerns over high repair costs were the first signs that not everyone had a positive view on Ford's decision to make most of its new F-150 pickup out of lightweight aluminum. The Blue Oval obviously argued for the move, listing the advantages it has over steel, boasting that it was the first manufacturer to use the metal in this kind of application. Read more » |
Guardrail Pierces Through Kia, Miraculously No One was Hurt Posted: 20 Mar 2014 01:23 PM PDT The main purpose of guardrails is to protect automobiles from swerving off the road, or at least absorb part of the energy, but sometimes, instead of shielding drivers, they can cause immense damage when poorly designed and a vehicle hits the end (or the beginning) of a metal beam. BYD Reportedly Mulling Supercar Called "Han" Posted: 20 Mar 2014 12:50 PM PDT While the sheer straight-line performance displayed by the BYD Qin hybrid which can hit 62 mph or 100 km/h in just under six seconds, is impressive, making a sedan quick is moderately difficult, whereas building a supercar with no prior experience (and doing it well) is a much more daunting task. Volvo Wants to Make Drowsiness Detectors More Complicated Posted: 20 Mar 2014 11:45 AM PDT Samsung's now-outdated Galaxy S4 smartphone came with a system that, for instance, stopped playing a YouTube video if it noticed you looking away from the screen, restarting it as soon as you glance back at the device. It also recognized your face and understood gestures to name but a few of the clever (and slightly useless) features it came with. Read more » |
