Lizard Man Of South Carolina Seems To Hate Cars

By Cornelius Nunev

A SC couple woke to find their car mauled and twisted recently. Local legend speaks of a creature that terrorized a young adult back in 1988. Could this be the return of the Lizard Man?. The couple might need a payday loan to get the car fixed up.

Attack on July 4

Leon Marshall awoke on July 4 to discover his car mangled and mauled. "I ran into the house and told my wife to call the police because something happened to the car," said Marshall.

"The tooth marks went completely through the fender," his wife Ada reported. "That's metal! And it just bent it up. It was like it was a piece of tissue paper."

The couple said they had no idea what can have brought on the damage. A community retired Sheriff had a few things to say.

What does the sheriff have to say?

Former sheriff Liston Truesdale isn't 82 years old. "This part here is how it all started in 1988," he said. "We got a call to come and look at something that had mauled a car. I went out there and looked at that damaged car, and I haven't seen anything like that before." Many blamed the damage on a creature. Locals thought the creature existed.

What occurred with the young boy?

A 17-year-old boy reported that the Lizard Man had an encounter with him about the same time the station got called about the mauled vehicle, according to Truesdale. The teen was just on his way home from work. He got a flat tire on the way that he had to fix. While putting away his tools, he saw something approaching that had red eyes and three-fingered hands. It looked like the beast was a lizard on two legs and was about seven feet tall.

As reported by the boy, he then got in his automobile and took off. The beast got onto the roof of the speeding automobile. He saw the creature looking through the windshield at him. The teenage went on to say that he managed to throw the thing off by swerving back and forth. The boy was so upset and scared when he got home. His parents had to calm him down for two hours.

Teen passes polygraph

As reported by Truesdale, the boy came from a responsible family and passed a polygraph test. He also seemed like he was really scared. "He never changed his story," Truesdale concluded.

There were many calls of a Lizard Man that flew. People had sightings to report. There were 50,000 individuals that visited to be able to try and see the beast as the story became media frenzy.

Mauled in 1988 too

Truesdale said the damage on the Marshall's automobile was almost identical to two other vehicles reported to have been mauled by the Lizard Man back in 1988. But he still keeps a skeptical sense of humor about it.

"Everything (around here) is laid off on the poor Lizard Man," jokes Truesdale. "But at this point, he must have grandchildren!"

Could it be an ape?

Tom Biscardi is a cryptic investigator. He says the Lizard man doesn't exist. "What you've got is a primate, a thing called a swamp ape," Biscardi believes.
