Renault Planning Bigger Koleos SUV Replacement, Says Report

Posted: 05 Feb 2015 02:37 AM PST

The current Renault Koleos is just too ugly (and not keenly enough priced) to sell well (it lacks mass appeal), even if it's by no means a bad car. Porsche Motorsport Boss Tells Everything There Is to Know about the Cayman GT4

Posted: 05 Feb 2015 01:59 AM PST

The most hardcore Porsche Cayman ever made, the GT4, is a dream come true for those enthusiasts who have always believed the automaker is keeping its mid-engined coupe underpowered on purpose.

Now Porsche has found a formula to build a very powerful and fast Cayman without making people give up on the 911 – or at least it thinks it has. The fact that the Cayman GT4 was developed by Porsche Motorsport, the same division responsible for the 911 GT3 and other similar products, proves that Porsche was serious about building the ultimate Cayman.

EVO's Jethro Bovingdon talked to Porsche Motorsport's GT car boss Andreas Prueninger about the Cayman GT4, which is described as the 911 GT3's little brother. As you probably know by now, the Cayman GT4 features a 385PS (380hp) 3.8-liter flat-six engine derived from the 911 Carrera S mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, which allow it to sprint from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds and to reach a top speed of 295km/h (183mph).

It may sound simple, but there are many more changes than the engine (which at first didn't even fit into the Cayman), and they are all detailed in the video posted below.
