When having a bike it is important not to let it just sit. Running the bike will ensure that the oil gets distributed evenly around the engine ensuring that topping up is kept to a minimum. If the bike has been running wait a few minutes before checking as the oil will need to slowly drain back down. Never add more then what is required.

Most of these oils are made from petroleum based which consists of hydrocarbons as well as other organic compounds. They can also come from non petroleum synthesized compounds. The main blend is now made up of polyalphaolefins, polyinternal olefins and hydrocarbons. The high performance oils can contain up to twenty percent of weight of esters which are inorganic or organic acids.

It not only helps to cool down the engine but it also helps to prevent the metal parts coming into contact with each other. If these two parts touch it will cause major damage and if any debris is mixed in with this the engine will be destroyed making the owner have to spend lots of money to fit new parts. The oil acts as lubrication as well as helping to move any dust, dirt or carbon away from the filter.

Having to change the filter and oil is unfortunately a very messy job and not something many enjoy having to do. It will take about forty five minutes even if one has never done it before but once it becomes routine that time will decrease. Each bike will be different but generally there are only about three bolts that need to be unscrewed.

This is artificial oil and consists of chemical compounds that are synthesized or unnaturally made. These can be made by using adapted petroleum instead of crude oil. It is used when working in extreme temperatures as it provides excellent chemical and mechanical properties. These are normally found in mineral oils.

Another problem that many find is that it is not heavy enough to trigger a street light when obeying the red. One will have to wait for awhile until a motor vehicle shows up to trigger it. In some places such as Oklahoma, Georgia, Virginia as well as Missouri and Kansas it is allowed that motorcyclists can use the red light as a stop sign.

The next thing is to pour more oil in and check that it is not dripping out from the bottom. Always check to see how much must be added before just pouring in and this should be noted on the side of the bike or in the manual. If one is not sure always phone the dealership where the bike was bought to double check.

Having said all this many would still not want to swap or sell for any reason. The feeling of having the wind and fresh air is something that cannot be beaten especially on a hot day. In the colder months it might take a lot longer to get dressed up ensuring that one does not necessarily freeze to death even on a very short journey.
