Looking For A Right Hand Drive Camaro Conversion

By Jerry Williams

For a lot of American car owners it may be necessary to have them converted so that they are a RH drive model after being moved to another country. When you are deciding on a right hand drive camaro conversion there are 2 ways to achieve this. When you are exporting cars it is not illegal to drive it with LH controls but a conversion will definitely make driving a lot easier and comfortable.

The task of changing a vehicles controls is not a case of moving the steering and foot controls. Things such as vents and safety belts will also need to be relocated to the other side. Other major components such as braking systems and suspension springs may need to be modified or moved before the car can be used on the roads and be safe to drive.

The less costly method of changing a vehicle is to buy all parts in kit form and carry out the work at home. This can be an inexpensive way of getting a conversion done and when finished it will be operational. One downside of a kit is that some of the final results are unsightly and many parts will be exposed.

Sourcing and buying kits is fairly easy and there are many web sites that specialize in packages for Camaro cars. The kits will be supplied with fitting instructions and email addresses for technical support. It is worth noting that when doing the modifications it may be necessary to get some extra tools to enable you to do the job yourself.

The second option is to give the vehicle to a company and let them to do the modifications. There are many established companies who do these modifications to a very high standard. This will be a much costlier option than doing the job yourself but all work they do will be covered by a warranty.

When you use the services of an engineer to do the work much higher standards of finish will be achieved. All of the parts will be invisible to the occupants and in most cases the vehicle will look as if it was originally that way. One plus point of using these firms is that they will continue to offer maintenance for the car after the modifications have been finished.

When the conversions are done the car will be inspected by an engineer to make sure it is safe to drive. If converted by a professional the cars are usually returned with all documents to confirm it has passed all inspections. If work has been carried out in your home workshop then the vehicle can be submitted for these checks.

When making any alterations to a car, any warranty offered by the maker will no longer be valid. Another point is that the retail value of the car may be lower, and it will be harder to sell as it will not be original. With any modifications to a vehicle you should notify your insurers of these changes as there could be a change in your annual payments to them.
