Scrap My Car And Buy A New One Today

By Thomas Roberts

Motoring is a notoriously expensive affair, but for many it is a necessity. When you drive a brand new auto off the forecourt you will never envisage the day you will be taking it in for scrap. But there comes a time when you have to stop pouring money into repairs and a time when you say you will scrap my car for money.

If you use your car for getting to work or for the school run it must be reliable. If it doesn't start half the time, your kids will get angry if they are late for school. If your vehicle breaks down on the way to the grocery store, your hungry family will get angry. When you can't rely on your vehicle anymore its really time you got a new one.

You could be clinging onto your truck or station wagon because you have limited funds. This really is false economy. Add up how much you are spending in repair bills and you will see why. Look online to see the value of your vehicle and you will quickly stop repairing it. The good news is that your truck no matter how broken will always have a scrap value, for its weight in metal.

So let's say that scrapping your truck really is the best idea. You could have it towed to your nearest yard, or your could try selling it for parts. Be aware that the value of your motor that you can find online by searching for make and model will be a value when the engine is in working order.

So let's say you have been offered a price online for you car. If you can't drive it to the place you are asked to, you would have to call a tow truck. On arrival you may find that you are offered less than the actual scrapping value. So, this is not a reliable method. Stripping your car however is a method that you could use.

Perhaps you have the time and a garage at home and you could start taking apart your car and selling it as pieces. One item that you should have no problem selling are the tires. Depending on the rim size if your treads have a lot of rubber left on you could get a couple of hundred dollars easily. Sometimes the amount of parts you can sell is luck. Say someone had an accident in an auto the same as yours and needs new doors, a bonnet, and hood. But, scrapping piece by piece is generally a long and drawn out affair.

If you have owned your vehicle since it was brand new it can be hard to part with it. You'll have washed and polished every weekend and made sure it was always looking its best. But when parts start to fail, it really is not worth your while paying for repairs that will only prolong the life of your auto by a few months.

If you need the cash right away, call your tow truck and have your automobile towed to the local yard. The money you make can be used a deposit for a brand new model, or alternatively it can be added to your savings to invest in a second hand vehicle.
