If you own a diesel truck, chances are you probably have a big love for trucks in general. While you probably spend some time keeping your diesel truck in the best possible condition, it is also fun to spend some free time enjoy trucks owned by other people by heading out to a big truck show. There are many truck shows held annually around the United States. Here are just a few examples of fun venues particularly suited to those who love trucks.

If there is one month when you should be free always, it would be in June. The American Truck Historical Society usually holds an exhibit and convention during this month, and it is a fantastic event for anyone who enjoys seeing and learning about antique trucks. There are tons of great old trucks on display and some interesting seminars that you can attend, as well. The convention is held in a different location each year, to allow people from different parts of the country to attend more easily.

Another fun option to consider is Heat Wave. This is a series of shows that is held in different locations throughout the state of Texas. Unlike that of the American Truck Historical Society though, Heat Wave focuses more on the contemporary models. What makes this truck show more amazing is that this also includes competitions. Among these are hydraulic competitions, burnout competitions, and even audio competitions. All these definitely serve as major attractions of the event. Truck lovers from all over the country come over to Texas to enjoy these Heat Wave events.

The town of Tunica in Mississippi may not be that conspicuous to others but it certainly is for truckers. You would certainly learn about this town if you are a trucker because it is the venue of Showfest, another popular truck show. It is best known for its display of highly customized trucks. Should you wish to attend the show, just know that there are also many vendors who usually sell different kinds of accessories and aftermarket parts, so it's wise to bring a little fun money so that you can buy some cool upgrades for your own truck.

If you are based in Oklahoma, then you would surely not miss Slamboree. This is another truck show that is held annually in Tulsa. However, it is not just the truckers in Oklahoma who make it a point to attend the show. Even those coming from as far as the West Coast drive all the way to Tulsa just to join the fun. The show usually features custom cars and motorcycles too. But its main feature is always the wide array of the big and beautiful trucks displayed for the public to see.

As a truck fan and operator though, you may not want to be a mere part of the audience. It is possible that you would want to join the show too. Of course, this means making some modifications on your truck. This could begin with souping up the exterior by lifting or lowering your truck, upgrading the wheels and tires and then having a custom paint job done. In addition, you probably will want to spice things up a bit under the hood and add everything from a cold air intake to a new exhaust system, a programmer and plenty of other parts that make a huge difference in your truck's performance and power.
