Posted: 06 Sep 2013 07:09 PM PDT

A base Corvette versus the top Nissan GT-R offering? We're all for comparing sports cars from different price brackets, categories and philosophies, but unless you want to stir up the fan boys, this is one test that should have come after we've seen how the Corvette fares against its more natural rivals. Allow us to explain.

It is true that the Corvette has always had a unique place in the market, in the sense that it was priced lower (at least in the U.S.) than other pure sport coupes with similar performance numbers and styling, but today, you can find models with which it shares common attributes, including pricing.

Audi Uses One Funny and One Factual Ad to Promote Its Extended Diesel Range in the US

Posted: 06 Sep 2013 03:40 PM PDT

Audi, and the VW group in general, is hell-bent on getting the entire world to like their diesel cars, and obviously, spend money to buy them. However, while they had no trouble convincing us Europeans that diesel is the way to go, in the U.S., it's proving to be a slightly more difficult battle to fight – it is a winning battle, though, albeit a hard-fought one as well. Bulleta Motors Changes Its Tune and Talks About Getting Evoras from the Used Car Market

Posted: 06 Sep 2013 02:06 PM PDT

After almost a decade on this site, one thing that hasn't stopped bothering me from day one, is when some individuals purposely fail to comprehend what we write and say merely to hide the truth by discrediting us. This happened with Bulleta Motors and its co-founder Mr. Ferris Rezvani who repeatedly chose to cherry pick words to create his own sentences, reality and his own meanings from our texts.

What had happened is that we were contacted by the only official authority to tell us whether Mr. Rezvani and his company had an agreement with Lotus for the supply and use of the Evora for their RF22 model, and which of course, is Lotus, with the company's spokesperson repeatedly answering 'no'.

The title of our piece was, "Lotus Says Bulleta RF22 is "Vapor" or In Other Words, BS", not "Carscoops' says Bulleta RF22 is "Vapor" or In Other Words, BS".

First announced as a US-manufactured, Maserati-badged Jeep Grand Cherokee with a reskin, the Levante has never managed to build  a picture of itself in my head. At first, it didn't seem that interesting and worth waiting for, sharing all those bits with its Jeep counterpart and not being a real Maserati in that sense. Read more »

Scoop: New 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO will be a Wild One

Posted: 06 Sep 2013 11:50 AM PDT

Nissan has been telling us that it's revitalized Nismo sub-brand has been a success with the company selling 3,700 Juke Nismo crossovers in Europe, Japan and the U.S. between launch in January and the end of July, while sales of Z Nismo Coupe account for 15 to 30 percent of Nissan Z model sales depending on market. Not bad, but what's a sub-brand without a crown jewel?

Be patient because that crown jewel is in the making as we speak. Of course, we're referring to the GT-R Nismo, the ultimate production version of the series, which will be, if not the, one of the last hurrahs of the much lauded R35 before its replacement arrives in late 2015.

The big news is that unlike the outgoing 2.0-liter four-cylinder E90-based models, the F30-based D3s make use of a 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged diesel, the same one found under the hoods of the XD3 SUV and D5 Bi-Turbo.
